Event guidelines and Covid-19 Safety Information for OneWave's 8th Birthday
Thank you for helping us bring a whole lot of colour to mental health. If Covid-19 laws and health guidance allow for outdoor public gatherings in your local area, we would love to see you create a fluro wave with a small group on Friday 19th March.
Please observe all local Covid-19 rules at the time of the event.
All fluro wave event organisers are required to read the below event guidelines and agree to the disclaimer:
1) Stay home if you have any Covid-19 symptoms
We really appreciate your amazing support, but please stay home and get well rather than organising/attending a Fluro Friday event if you meet any of the following criteria:
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms:
Stay at home if you begin to feel unwell, even with mild symptoms such as headache and slight runny nose, until you recover.
If you develop fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical advice promptly as this may be due to a respiratory infection or other serious condition.
If you’ve been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, you must also isolate yourself for 14 days after your last contact with the confirmed case.
Other Government laws or health guidance in relation to Covid-19 prevent your attendance.
2) Please follow your local health authority recommendations for outdoor public gatherings
The health and safety of you and the community is our first priority. If you are planning to organise a fluro wave event with a small group on Friday 19th March (and are not prevented from doing so for health or other reasons) please ensure you follow your local laws and health authority guidelines for outdoor public gatherings. These requirements may be subject to change and may mean you have to cancel your event at short notice. Having an understanding of current local requirements and guidelines will mean you are able to prepare your fluro wave event. When you register for the fluro wave event you will be required to provide the following information for your local area:
Where the proposed location for your event is proposed?
Whether, based on current information available, an event in your location can proceed?
How many people are allowed at outdoor public gatherings? For example - Current restrictions for Greater Sydney, Central Coast and Wollongong (as at 1st March 2021):
No more than 50 people can gather outside in a public place which includes public parks, reserves, beaches, public gardens and spaces.
If more people register/show up than are allowed for outdoor public gatherings, will the local government allow you to set up separate fluro wave events in different parts of the beach (with no contact between groups) and do you have a plan for managing this?
What are the current social distancing guidelines?
Are face masks mandatory?
3) When you register your beach/location for the fluro wave you will be required to accept the following terms:
A) I recognise the health and safety of the community is the number one priority and I will follow all relevant local laws and health authority guidelines for outdoor public gatherings when creating a fluro wave to celebrate OneWave's 8th Birthday on Friday 19th March.
B) I will stay home rather than organising/attending a Fluro Friday event if I meet any of the following criteria:
If I have any Covid-19 symptoms, even mild symptons such as headache and slight runny nose, until I recover.
If I develop fever, cough and difficulty breathing, I will seek medical advice promptly as this may be due to a respiratory infection or other serious condition.
If I have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, I must also isolate for 14 days after my last contact with the confirmed case.
Other Government laws or health guidance in relation to Covid-19 prevent my attendance.
C) I will monitor and comply with all laws and health guidance for outdoor public gatherings in my area. Where the circumstances change due to my health, change in laws or health guidance, I will cancel the event by letting people know as quickly as possible (preferably prior to the event).
4) We are also recommending you the follow the following safety measures:
Maintain social distancing at Fluro Friday - more than 1.5m (about the same size as putting a surfboard between you).
Follow Covid safe rules - Please observe all local Covid-19 rules at the time of the event. Please RSVP before the event, so that the event organiser can ensure attendee numbers are below the limit for outdoor public gatherings. If there are too many people attending the fluro wave event we would love you to join our virtual 8th Birthday event and post a fluro selfie to show your support.
We encourage you to wear a fluro face mask - you can be as creative as possible with this. Keep one handy for situations when physically distancing isn’t possible.
